COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In this course students will become familiar with the basic concepts of Pre-Algebra in a step-by-step approach and apply these concepts as needed to mathematical problems. Topics include: Operations with Integers, Operations with Rational Numbers, Expressions and Equations, Multi-Step Equations, Ratios, Proportions, Percent, Linear Functions, Powers and Nonlinear Functions, Real Numbers, Right Triangles, Surface area and Volume, Statistics and Probability.

* Notebook
* Pencils
* Calculator (Optional)
BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS:
- Bring all required materials to class every day.
- Be in your seat with your materials out when the tardy bell rings.
- Come to class ready to learn.
- Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself.
- Listen and follow directions the first time.
- Respect everyone in the room: yourself, other students, and teachers.
- Treat all school property and equipment properly.
- Follow school rules and policies as stated in the student handbook.
GRADING:
Grades will be based on the following types of assignments. Percentages are approximate and may vary slightly from one unit to the next.
- Classwork/Homework (~60%)
- Unit Tests (~40%)
