Our district operates on a four-day school week, and there are no school days on Fridays. The certified staff will have one contractual Friday per month dedicated to professional development. See the school calendar for the monthly Friday professional development schedule.
Our district recognizes the importance of continued educational experiences and other professional growth activities as a means to improve job performance. The District requires regular training on anti-bullying and homeless students.
Professional growth experiences may include, but are not limited to workshops, curriculum planning, individual research, travel, supervision of teacher trainees, and other such activities.
All requests for district payment of college course work tuition require prior administrative approval.
All requests for release time from regular work duties for attendance at meetings or conferences will be decided based on such factors as availability of funds, consistency with district and building goals and job assignment. Requests require prior building principal approval.
